At the end of his book "The Origin of Species", Darwin said that life may have formed by the living breath of the Creator. However, after some evolutionists have committed to believe in the evolutionary theory, they tend to fill in any gaps that Darwin may have left. They would reinforce their arguments by interjecting with other naturalistic theories. Strictly speaking, evolution is a naturalistic philosophy, and Darwin’s theory on the origins of species is not science.
Evolutionists generally believe that about 4 billion years ago, the universe began with the "Big Bang", and the earth was formed naturally under probabilistically optimum conditions. Through a series of chemical reactions combined with electrical energy from lightning, certain kind of lives were formed. However, this theory does not explain how or why lightnings were generated, and thus denies life was created. Evolutionists also advocate the possibility of life forming in the ocean, which they called "prebiotic soup". They believe that life just reproduces itself in a certain way, and this process continues until a cell is finally produced. It is interesting to note that some evolutionists believe the length of time required for the first life form to become a cell is the same as a single cell to become a human form. After hundreds of millions of years of reproduction and evolution, single cells eventually developed into simple plants and animals. Then came fish, amphibians, reptiles, and mammals. Among mammals there were monkeys, apes, and finally humans. But Genesis 1:25 says: “God made the wild animals according to their kinds, the livestock according to their kinds, and all the creatures that move along the ground according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good.”
Besides the complex fossil and cell theories associated with evolution, the “Big Bang” theory is most problematic. If indeed everything started with the "Big Bang", where did the matter of the “Big Bang” come from? If the “Big Bang” started the formation of the universe, then what was going on before the “Big Bang”?
Romans 1:18-20 says: “The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of people, who suppress the truth by their wickedness, since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse” (Romans 1:20 NIV).
Dear Lord, thank you for letting us know your eternal power and divinity, and your grace and mercy that have manifested in our hearts. Amen!
