我們在逆境中處事態度和反應，正是測試我們對神的認識、信心和忠心。在順境中，享受美好的生活，一切順利，身體健康，感謝神是容易的，服事神是容易的，信靠神是容易的。相反地，苦難在眼前，我們的信心會動搖，憂慮境況會惡化，感到筋疲力盡。我們會怎樣回應這境況？我們的回應正是反映我們對神的認識、敬畏和忠心。
從但以利書三章一至十八節，尼布甲尼撒王命令民眾俯伏敬拜金像，沙得拉、米煞和亞伯尼歌對尼佈甲尼撒王的回應，表示他們對耶和華的認誠、敬畏和忠心。他們知道耶和華的誡命是不可敬拜偶像；他們知道耶和華是大而可畏的神；他們知道向神忠心。他們的性命是在尼布甲尼撒王的手上，王一下令，他們便會被拋在火爐裹，他們對尼布甲尼撒王的回應，並不在乎神會否救他們，重要的是他們不會得罪耶和華。他們決不願意俯伏敬拜金像，願意捨命，表現他們認識神、敬畏神和向神忠心。
沙 得 拉 、米 煞 、 亞 伯 尼 歌 對 王 說 ： 尼 布 甲 尼 撒 啊 ， 這 件 事 我 們 不 必 回 答 你； 即 便 如 此 ， 我 們 所 事 奉 的 神 能 將 我 們 從 烈 火 的 窯 中 救 出 來 。 王 啊 ，他 也 必 救 我 們 脫 離 你 的 手 ；即 或 不 然 ， 王 啊 ， 你 當 知 道 我 們 決 不 事 奉 你 的 神 ， 也 不 敬 拜 你 所 立 的 金 像 。
但以利書三章十六至十八節
我們要認識神：認識神是愛；認識神是聖潔；認識神會管教。向神存敬畏之心，叫我們對神忠心。

The way we handle adversity shows that how mature we are. As Christians, the way we handle adversity reflects how much we trust God. When things go well, it is easier to give thanks and it is easier to say that we trust our Lord. When we face challenges and disappointments, we may lose our faith in God.
When Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego were ordered to worship the image of gold, they refused. The consequence was that they would be thrown into the blazing furnace. To them, there was no room for negotiation. They followed God’s command not to worship idols. They would not sin against God and they were ready to give their lives for God. They served God faithfully when they faced death. Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego learned the commandment and put it into practice. Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego trusted God. They believed God would protect them and deliver them from the hand of Nebuchadnezzar. (Daniel 3:16-18)
God bless us always. When we face challenges and disappointments in our lives, we do not give up. We stand firm and follow His commands. We trust God that He will deliver us.
